How the National Party are screwing you over

Many many years ago I used to be a fan of the National Party, back in the good old days when New Zealand was a half-decent country and not the socially engineered mess it is now. That however, is no longer the case and frankly the reason we are in such a poor state now is largely due to the current reign of the National Party and also Labour's before that under Helen Clark's leadership. Here is a list (in no particular order) of what they have done over the past decade or so and why they literally have, and are, screwing us over.

• Asset Sales - Removes a nation's sovereignty and providing a future for the next generations.
• Debt Levels - Huge increase in national debt, the real pain of this is yet to come. Our children's children's, children will still be paying this off. What a legacy, thanks National Party for your stupid and extremely poor management of the economy, GFC or no GFC.
• Anti-Smacking Legislation - Absolute disaster for our country, child violence has dramatically increased (136%) since this law was passed; all it has achieved is being effective in criminalising good parents.
• Substantial RMA and red tape legislation which is crippling business. Believe it or not, compliance legislation has increased dramatically under the National Government - go figure, and they say they are pro business???
• Social Welfare system that is now so large it's out of control. (10.5 Billion spent on welfare 2016/17)
• More prisoners now than we have ever had costing the taxpayer well over $100k per prisoner per year. (9,914 as at Dec 2016)
• Scant disregard for our pensioners and the ones who actually built our once great country.
• Gay Marriage Legislation - Continued assault against the traditional family unit.
• Tax cuts for the super wealthy and more benefits for the lazy bums of society.
• Hospital pass mentality to Local Council's who are badly run and out of control with again, high debt levels, sweating the small stuff, and, a reach well beyond what they should be taking care of.
• Taxation, taxation, taxation.
• An education system which is frankly useless, look at the snowflake generation of today for the results.
• Health-care which at best is third rate.
• Housing problem - Less than 50% of New Zealander's now own their own home - (Houston, we have a problem)
• Roading, transportation, infrastructure - Do I mention Auckland or simply leave it alone... Why does it cost so much to put in an expressway through Kapiti? (Over 700 million) Transmission gully, three years still to go before it is completed, that is way too long???

I could go on and on but that is enough for now, you no doubt get the picture. The continued arrogance of government and ignoring of the real issues (see above) staggers me and highlights that they are simply only interested in the game of power and holding on to it whatever the cost. Their serious inaction, fiddling with the unimportant and diabolical hunger for power and greed is ruining your life and our country. Yes, you are getting screwed.
