Dumb and Dumber - Peters and Ardern
Well there it is, Thursday night we found out who will be the next government and we all watched with interest as Dumb (Winston) and Dumber (Jacinda) have now finally tied the knot and got into bed with each other. It doesn't come as much surprise however, they are well suited to each other and clearly have decided that the majority will of the people simply doesn't matter. The chaos of MMP in action and whatever you think about Winston's theatrics and playing to the crowd, in my opinion, he has seriously got it wrong here and it will be interesting to watch the fallout from his decision. I say his decision because in the end it would have been, his fellow MP's and board are mere puppets to the main player on stage, always have been, it has only ever been about one person - Winston.
New Zealand, for a good proportion of you your worst nightmare has just become a reality. Labour, NZ First and now the Greens will be in government, life is just going to get a whole lot tougher for you. Bizarrely also, we now have a 37 year old PM who frankly is an embarrassment. She has no experience in the real world, nothing to fall back on and will be Winston's lapdog; oh but hang on, she will be positive. Whoop-dee-do-dah, thanks for bringing only that to the table Jacinda.
I have always believed you get the leader you deserve and we as a country are going to find that out the hard way. This coalition will not survive, there are too many hard-left communists, nut-jobs and ego-driven grandfathers in that lot to believe otherwise, you can only just begin to imagine the in-fighting. Winston, answers to nobody, Jacinda wants to please everyone, James Shaw wants us to believe climate change actually is real, and the lolly scramble is about to start with money we don't have.
Margaret Thatcher summed it up very well when she said:
"Socialists cry "Power to the people", and raise the clenched fist as they say it. We all know what they really mean - Power over people, power to the state."
But let's be positive I hear you say, let's do this???
Change of this kind is not always a good thing and yes, you know from previous posts I strongly dislike the National party and what they have done, however, it appears to me that New Zealander's didn't want change just yet, they still (National), whichever way you look at it, got the most votes and therefore should have been in the driver's seat. MMP has dealt that a severe blow and now the minorities are running our country.
If you voted for Winston thinking he would go with National and provide a good safe hand-brake you were naive and stupid, that, in my opinion was never going to happen. Winston has shafted National and the majority of New Zealander's because he has acted like a spoilt rotten child who couldn't bury the hatchet and out of pure spite has gone with Labour to "teach the other side a lesson".
Hanging the country's future on a personal vendetta is absolutely a fatal decision, fasten your seat-belts folks, you are in for one heck of a ride, albeit a fast-track downhill to the bottom.
